Saturday, July 25, 2009 Take time to love

Someone doesn’t have to be perfect in order to deserve your love. They don’t have to be a perfect winning team member. They don’t have to be faultless, or always cheerful, or always humble, or always loving, or a tireless worker, or have a personality that makes them easy to like or get along with. In fact, I’m sure none of us are all of these things all the time, because no one is perfect. And yet, as representatives of Jesus, our job is to love. It’s what we do. Love is what our mission is all about. Love is the trademark of the Family—or it should be! “By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one for another” (John 13:35).

Jesus has called and chosen you as His representative of love. He has faith that you can be that for Him. Whenever you feel lacking in love, remember that our Husband has more to give you, and His love never runs out.

When things look dark, you should rejoice, for it is a precursor to a miracle or breakthrough. Darkest hours should be enjoyed and reveled in. Take the darkness out of the darkest hour by turning it into a praise session for the dawn. Worship the Lord’s bright dawn through the darkest nights, and it will become your most looked-forward-to time in any situation.—Ishton
