Friday, April 27, 2007 Are you feeling negative?

Of all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer …

You say: It's impossible.

God says: All things are possible. (Lk.18:27)

You say: I'm too tired.

God says: I will give you rest. (Mat.11:28-30)

You say: Nobody really loves me.

God says: I love you. (Jn.3:16; Jn.13:34)

You say: I can't go on.

God says: My grace is sufficient. (2Cor.12:9; Psa.91:15)

You say: I can't figure things out.

God says: I will direct your steps (Pro.3:5-6)

You say: I can't do it.

God says: You can do all things. (Phi.4:13)

You say: I'm not able.

God says: I am able. (2Cor.9:8)

You say: It's not worth it.

God says: It will be worth it. (Rom.8:28)

You say: I can't forgive myself.

God says: I forgive you. (1Jn.1:9; Rom.8:1)

You say: I can't manage.

God says: I will supply all your needs. (Phi.4:19)

You say: I'm afraid.

God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear. (2Tim.1:7)

You say: I'm always worried and frustrated.

God says: Cast all your cares on Me. (1Pet.5:7)

You say: I don't have enough faith.

God says: I've given everyone a measure of faith. (Rom.12:3)

You say: I'm not smart enough.

God says: I give you wisdom. (1Cor.1:30)

You say: I feel all alone.

God says: I will never leave you or forsake you. (Heb.13:5)

Prayer for General Behavior

Thank You Jesus for our Family, & how Your Word teaches us to live & work together for You. Thank You for leading & guiding us & teaching us how to be the men & women of God that You want us to be.

Lord, in all that comes my way today, please help me to be willing & cheerful, & to go YOUR way, not my way. Help me to follow You & Your Word faithfully so I can become more like You, Jesus. Help me to be "ready to go, ready to stay, ready my place to fill; ready for service lowly or great, ready to do Thy Will." Hallelujah! TYJ!

Please help me to be loving & kind & considerate in all that I do. Help me to tune in to others & what they need, & not to just have my mind on myself. Please fill me with Your Spirit & joy, so that Your joy will be my strength (Neh.8:10b), & so that I will have a happy face, & a joyful countenance that will uplift & encourage those around me.

Lord Jesus, I know there are a lot of areas I need Your help in, & I know that without You I can do nothing. (Jn.15:5b) But WITH You, Jesus, all things are possible (Mk.10:27b), so please help me to overcome my weak areas so I can become the disciple that You want me to be. Please help me to make progress today, to do something & learn some things today that I won't have to do tomorrow. Please help me to be open so that I can learn from those around me & from the experiences that You bring my way. TYJ!

Lord, please give me the courage & conviction to fight the good fight (1Tim.6:12), to resist the Enemy & all his ways. Help me to keep my eyes on You, to keep believing & obeying no matter what happens, & to know that "all things work together for good to them that love God." (Rom.8:28) Please help me, Jesus, as I go through battles to keep praising You & quoting Scriptures, to really fill my heart & mind & mouth with declarations of faith & praise & power--to hang on to Your Word! PTL!

Thank You, Lord, that You care about every little thing that I do. I know that, if I commit my ways to You, You will establish my thoughts & direct my paths. (Pro.16:3; 3:6) TYJ! So, Jesus, please lead & guide me today in Your path. In Jesus' name, amen.

Friday, April 20, 2007 How to...

(Jesus:) This is how you too can find that passion, that love that compels you without inhibition for Me.
  • The more you give to Me, the more impassioned you become for Me.
  • The more you live for Me, the more you will see Me work for you.
  • The more you test Me, the more you will find My power is proved.
  • The more you sacrifice for Me, the more you will gain from Me.
  • The closer you draw to Me, the closer I will draw to you.
--Until you reach the point in your life where you realize that I have fulfilled all your dreams, I have made good on all My promises, I have kept My every word, I have been faithful at every step, and I have proved that I am more than enough for you. (3611:51)

I got this from my aunt this morning:

Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough".

The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom".

They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?".

Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?".

"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said.

"When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough'. May I ask what that means?".

She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone". She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more. "When we said, 'I wish you enough', we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them". Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

She then began to cry and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them but then an entire life to forget them.

I hadn't had my PnP time before reading this, but when I did take it, the Lord came through with a reminder of the GN "Jesus is Enough". He always knows just how much is enough, and if we're trusting in Him, knowing that He never gives us more than He knows we can take, then we can know that we're in His hands and He'll be enough for us. “To say that I am enough is also acknowledging that nothing is impossible to you. There is nothing that you cannot go through‚ nothing you cannot survive losing, nothing that can move you, because you would still have Me, and that's all you need. You are standing on the Rock, and there you cannot be moved.” (Jesus is Enough - paragraph 61)

Being FD is not a medal that you carry around and show off. Its a scar on your heart, which reminds you of how many things you had to forsake to be able to be a true disciple. The only thing you should be so proud of is the Love and Light that it bestows on you because of your yeildedness. It is not in you-it is continually poured onto you, so that you in turn can pour this same Love on to others. Its an honour to be chosen for this task!

Learning to be trusting and praiseful and at peace instead of stressing out is similar to so many other things that you are learning in your lives for Me. I tell you to think positive thoughts instead of negative ones. I tell you to praise instead of giving in to discouragement or hopelessness. I tell you to turn your thoughts into prayers. I tell you to replace your carnal thoughts with My mind. All of these things that you're already learning to do are replacing your natural reactions, thoughts, or mindset with something that is supernatural, and that's exactly what you need to do when thoughts and feelings of stress come your way. You have to make a conscious decision to turn those thoughts and feelings into ones that are praiseful, trusting, and full of faith. You have to learn to recognize the stress when it hits and turn it around into something positive.
